More brainy beauties join Miss Hong Kong pageant

10 Jun – It seems that Cambridge graduate Louisa Mak’s reign as Miss Hong Kong 2015 has inspired more and more brainy beauties to join the pageant this year.
As reported on On CC, the first round of interview for the 2016 Miss Hong Kong pageant recently showcased many aspiring beauty queens who are as highly educated as the reigning queen.
Sources revealed that some graduated from well-known academic institutions, including London School of Economics, University of Manchester, and Louisa’s alma mater, University of Cambridge.
Among those who received the most attention are 22-year-old Maggie, a graduate from the Ivey Business School in Ontario, and Angellica, a physics major graduate from Cambridge.
Even Louisa is supporting one candidate in particular, named Bowie Cheung. Bowie reportedly graduated from the University College in London (UCL) and is a devout Christian who has volunteered in missionary work in Africa and India.
The reigning queen recently shared a photo with Bowie on Instagram, and wrote, “I’m so glad you followed your heart and went for it! Try your best and God will do the rest!”
